Overview

The Kumbh Mela is a celebration of the mythical churning of the ocean by gods and demons to obtain the elixir of immortality, amrita. It is held at the four places on earth where drops of amrita fell: Prayag, Haridwar, Ujjain, and Nashik. During the Kumbh Mela, millions of pilgrims bathe in the sacred rivers.

Itinerary

Upon arrival, meet and greet at Prayagraj Airport/Railway Station and transfer to the Campsite.

Prayag or Prayagraj had been the ancient name of the city of Allahabad. Pra means “first” and Yag means “devotion”. Prayag also signifies the coming together of rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati. After the Mughal invasion, Emperor Akbar, impressed by the location, named the city Allahabad which meant “Abode of God”. Emperor Shah Jahan, his grandson, renamed the city to Allahabad. The festival is a testament to the human quest for divine and spiritual liberation, representing the belief in freedom from the continuous cycle of birth, death, and rebirth.  It is celebrated in a cycle of approximately 12 years, to celebrate every revolution Brihaspati (Jupiter) completes, at four river-bank pilgrimage sites: Prayagraj (Ganges-Yamuna-Sarasvati rivers confluence), Haridwar (Ganges), Nashik (Godavari), and Ujjain (Shipra). This gathering allows millions of devotees to immerse themselves in the holy waters of Ganga, Yamuna, and the mystical Saraswati, symbolizing a purification of the soul and as believed, a path to attaining Moksha or liberation. The Maha Kumbh Mela transcends the worldly and embraces the spiritual, manifesting the richness of India’s diverse cultural heritage and spiritual traditions. Payment Policy

  • If booking is 30 days in advance from the travel date: Advance of 15% of the package cost required
  • If booking is between 30 days to 15 days in advance from the travel date: Advance of 30% of the package cost is required
  • If travel is within 15 days of the travel date: We will require 100% payment.

Cancellation Policy

  • If booking is 15 days before the travel date: 100% refund for Domestic Packages.
  • if booking is 30 days before the travel date: 100% refund for International Packages.
  • Between 30 days to 15 date before the travel date 10% of the total cost will be deducted on International Packages.
  • Between 15 days to 1 Day before the travel date: 100% cancellation on Domestic & International Packages.
