Overview
Dwarakadheesh is the 98th Divya Desam of Vishnu on the subcontinent, glorified in the Divya Prabandha sacred texts. The temple is at an elevation of 12.19 metres above mean sea-level. It faces west. The temple layout consists of a garbhagriha and antrala. The city's name literally means the “gateway to heaven” in Sanskrit, as Dwar means “gate” and ka references “Brahma”. It has also been referred to throughout its history as Mokashpuri. The premises also house smaller shrines to Radha, Satyabhama, Balarama, Devaki among other deities. An ancient and prosperous city believed to have been the capital of Lord Krishna's kingdom, It is an important pilgrimage centre for Hindus from all over the world.
Itinerary
On your arrival in Ahmedabad Airport or Railway Station you will greeted to our representative who then transfer you to the hotel. One of the most commercially and industrially advanced cities of Gujarat. Hop in your transport facility arranged, which will take you to the city of Dwarka. On the way to Dwarka, you are taken to Bala Hanuman temple and Lakhota palace in Jamnagar. The places we visit during this city tour are Akshardham, ISKCON temple, Vaishnodevi temple. Evening is left free to enjoy some shopping time. Overnight at Ahemdabad.
After breakfast, we depart for the sacred city of Dwarka. On reaching Dwarka, we take part in the serene evening Aarti of Dwarkadhish Temple. Dwarka had been the lavish kingdom of Lord Krishna during the Dwapara Yuga and Dwarkadhish temple exhibits the lord as a king. After that we are taken to the Gomti river for a sacred dip, then head for Nageshwar Jyotirling, Gopi Talav, and Bet Dwarka. After covering all three, while back to our hotel, visit the Rukmini temple. Then visit some other local temples and at last attend the evening aarti at Dwarkadheesh temple and enjoy some shopping time. Overnight at Dwarka.
After breakfast, we make an excursion to Beyt Dwarka which is said to be Lord Krishna’s original residence during his ruling years. Also, we visit the famous Nageshwar Jyotirlingam temple of lord Shiva, which is only about 16kms from Dwarka. Lord Shiva is worshipped as Naganath here someone who can mitigate the effect of all types of poisons. Overnight at Dwarka.
After breakfast, now is the time of enchanting nature to soar. Today, we can enjoy the classic beaches of Diu and enjoy water sports.The Diu Nagoa beach and get indulged in all the fun-filled activities. After all the fun, we leave for Somnath en route Porbandar. Porbandar is that city where the ‘father of the nation’ Mahatma Gandhi had taken birth. Kirti Mandir, Sudama temple and Sri Hari Mandir are the places we visit at Porbandar after which we head straight to Somnath temple. Later we proceed to have a Darshan of Someshwar Mahadev at Somnath Jyotirlingam temple. We attend the evening Aarti there in plus enjoy the amazing light and sound show. Overnight at Somnath.
We visit some other places of Somnath such as Bhalka Tirth and Triveni Sangam. Bhalka Tirth is that holy land from where Lord Krishna is said to have departed for his heavenly abode or nij dham. Triveni sangam is the sacred point of confluence of 3 rivers includes Kapila, Hiren and Saraswati. After visiting these places, you get some time to rest in your hotel before getting ready to head for Devaliya Forest. A much-awaited jungle safari is waiting for you to serve its elegance and rich flora and fauna. Overnight at Diu.
Today you have to get up early so that you don’t miss the adventurous morning jeep safari that starts at 6 am in the morning. During the first half we set out to explore the picturesque Portuguese town of Diu with a quaint old world charm. Diu fort, Diu museum and St Paul’s Church are the places we visit during this Diu tour. Post Diu sightseeing we leave for Sasan Gir forest reserve. On reaching check into the forest guesthouse and later proceed for spine chilling Gir National Park jungle safari tour. Now checkout of your hotel and proceed for Junagarh sightseeing. To capture some memorable moments in Naulakha Palace and Swaminarayan temple in Gondal. Overight at Sasan Gir.
Next morning we drive back to Ahmedabad. On your way to the Airport or Railway station, drop into Sabarmati ashram, Sabarmati river, Vaishnodevi Temple, Kankaria Lake, and Akshardham. Take home some captivating memories of a spiritual holiday of a lifetime. Transferred to Ahmedabad Airport or Railway Station for onward destination.
