Ramayana Trails

Overview

Sri Lanka according to the great Indian epic Ramayana in Lanka Pura. There are many living witnesses / places associated with Ramayana in Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka is surrounded by the Indian Ocean, Gulf of Mannar, the Palk Strait, and lies in the vicinity of India and the Maldives. Another location connected to the Ramayana in Sri Lanka is Ravana's formidable fortress, which is described as being situated on a plateau between three mountain peaks known as the Trikuta Mountain.

Itinerary

On arrival you will be transferred to Chilaw. You will visit Munneswaram temple is the place where the King Rama prayed to Shiva after committing the worst crime named as Brahmahasti. God Shiva blessed Lord Rama and advised him to install and praying four lingams at 5 places to get rid of dosham. Manavari temple is the first place where Lord Rama installed and prayed the Siva lingam.  At present this lingam at Manavari temple is named as Ramalingam as this lingam was erected by Rama. Then transferred to Anuradhapura, dinner and overnight at hotel.

After breakfast check out from the hotel and visit Anuradhapura a UNESCO World Heritage site and cradle of glorious Sinhalese Buddhist civilization. The pride of place in Anuradhapura was taken by the ancient stupas and ancient reservoirs. Then transfer to Trincomalee believed to be built by sage Agasthyar as per the instructions of Lord Shiva who was impressed by the devotion of King Ravana. This place has the uniqueness of the lord building a temple for his devotee as a reward for his devotion.

After breakfast check- out to the hotel and tranferred to Kandy. Kandy is an exotic city the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its center / Sacred Tooth Relic Temple / Royal Botanical garden. After then we enroute Dambulla Cave Temple also known as the Golden Temple of Dambulla is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Sri Lanka. Largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka.

Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast you will be transferred to Kandy. On arrival check in at hotel and enjoy the rest of the day leisure. You can explore Elephant Orphanage Pinnawala and Royal Botanic Gardens Kandy. We will enjoy cultural show in Kandy.

Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast check out from the hotel and you will be transfer to Nuwara Eliya. In Nuwara Eliya we will explore the exotic plants and vibrant orchids at the Royal Botanical Gardens, followed by a visit to the Kadugannawa Tea Factory to learn about Sri Lanka's famed tea production. We will visit Sri Bhaktha Hanuman Temple was believed that Hanuman is searching for Sita Devi from a place called “Ravana Goda” close to this Bhaktha Hanuman Temple. Continue to see the sightseeing of Nuwara Eliya.

Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast we will visit Sita Amman Temple and Ashok Vatika in Nuwara Eliya. Then, you will be transferred to Kataragama and enroute Divrumpola Temple, Ravana Caves and Ravana Water Falls. The Buddhist Temple is a place where Sita underwent the famous fire ordeal Agni Pariksha in order to prove her chastity to God Rama after being rescued by him where she came unscathed and proved her innocence and purity and Sita Amman temple area is the only Hindu Temple which dedicated to Princess Sita in Sri Lanka. Believed that the Sita Devi was kept captive at this site by King Ravana.

Overnight at hotel.

After breakfast we will visit Kataragama Temple and leave for colombo.The kataragama temple is dedicated to God Skanda. Then, we will visit Ussangoda Ramayana Site is one of the torched areas, it is believed that Ussangoda during the time of Ramayana, King Ravana used this flat hard land to travel on his Pushpak Vimana. Afterwards, we will reach Galle and visitt Rumassala Sanjeevani Mountain.We will visit the Dutuch reformed site of Galle which is known as the "Galle Dutuch Fort" a UNESCO World Heritage site, The Galle Fort Lighthouse and capture the view of the coastline. Then we will transfer to colombo.

After breakfast you will be drive to visit Anjaneyar temple in Sri Lanka which dedicated to Lord Hanuman in his Panchamuga form, meaning five faces. Ramayana states that after the death of King Ravana , King Vibhishana  was crowned by Lakshmana . So Kelaniya Buddhist Temple is the place which had been ruled by Vibhishana.  Afterwards, explore the bustling Pettah Floating Market and enjoy a relaxing stroll through the Galle Face Green Beach. Check- out from the hotel then transferred to the airport for onward destination.

  • If booking is 30 days in advance from the travel date: Advance of 15% of the package cost required
  • If booking is between 30 days to 15 days in advance from the travel date: Advance of 30% of the package cost is required
  • If travel is within 15 days of the travel date: We will require 100% payment.

Cancellation Policy

  • If booking is 15 days before the travel date: 100% refund for Domestic Packages.
  • if booking is 30 days before the travel date: 100% refund for International Packages.
  • Between 30 days to 15 date before the travel date 10% of the total cost will be deducted on International Packages.
  • Between 15 days to 1 Day before the travel date: 100% cancellation on Domestic & International Packages.
