Begums of Shahjahanabad

This walk starts in Chawri Bazaar, with buildings that were formerly kothas set amidst shops of kagazis (paper traders) and kanseras (bronze merchants). Covering about 2 kilometres in approximately 2 hours, the walk will touch upon the contribution of women to the architecture of Shahjahanabad and to the development of its culture.

What to Expect:The walk explore the "Old" Delhi of the Begums, be it the courtesan, the princess, the common folk or the noble. The Old Delhi where women were patrons of architecture, contributes to the growth of Music and Dance, were entrepreneurs, rulers even.
